Why the Highlander principle?
One of those things, maybe its not new but it was to me. I was starting a project and we need to turn a lot of things from many to one: Technology, People, Processes, Countries – the lot. To do this you need to get people to think the same way, or at least share the same vision. Credit to Rudi from Frankfurt for the title.
So what’s the Plan?
I waste an immense amount of time every company I work with doing the same stuff. They in turn often have multiple tools, processes and methodologies where one is needed. This is where the highlanderprinciple was born – I want to reuse the lessons and encourage a wider community of IT Architects to get involved so we can all stop doing things more than once.
Some of the content will come from past lessons learned, Some will be current and up for debate (and I hope people will challenge content if you have a lesson to share), and then there is the future and how we shape it.
